Keeping it in the family
When a Music at Heart recorder pupil (retired GP and grandfather of Suzuki twins) crafted his own organ, it was too big for the house, so he decided to build a music room in his garden - providing a beautiful new concert venue for studio pupils to enjoy music-making with family and friends. The combination of organ and recorders is a very pleasing blend, and the audience was treated to solo and group performances of the much-loved Suzuki repertoire. In the grand finale, parents joined their children on stage with bigger recorders, including a Great Bass, to play ensemble music together, a highlight of the occasion.
